Firenze Winter Park, ice-skating in Florence

PHOTOS & SPANISH VERSION BELOW

One of the experiences indisputably linked to Christmas is ice-skating. The Firenze Winter Park is not the New York Rockefeller Center, but it has its charm. I have never skated over ice, and I do not think I am going to do it on this occasion, but I love to go there and observe the eager faces of people, filled with curiosity and happiness. I love to guess who are the scared ones, the clumsy ones, the agile ones, the vanity ones, and even those who show their expertise — they take it as seriously as if they were in a world championship. All in all, this mixture is just great.

The Firenze Winter Park installations consist of two cover skating rings, the big one called “MASTER” measures 18×38 meters, and the smaller one called “RIVER” measures 10×20 meters, this last one is ideal for beginners and children. In Firenze Winter Park is also possible to practice Ice Stock and both skating rings can be reserved for private celebrations: birthday parties, company events and similar. Furthermore, this Florence ice oasis offers pizza and beer. On Fridays, visitors can enjoy the aperitif for 15 Euros. The access to the premises is only possible in shifts and via magnetic card — upon buying it in the counter. The place organizes leisure activities, skating training courses, and spectacles over ice.
Firenze Winter Park is opened till February 23, 2020, and closed on Mondays and Wednesdays. Schedules and prices HERE
