Christine De Melo´s Florence

My Portuguese parents arrived in the US with nothing but the will to succeed. I fell in love with art, history, and architecture at a young age and longed to see the works of Michelangelo, Leonardo da Vinci, Donatello, and Botticelli. Being firstborn to poor immigrants meant that I grew up with few prospects—Italy may as well have been the moon.

I went to college late in life. Three years after obtaining my art history degree, I got a job coordinating educational programs throughout the Italian country. I eventually settled in Florence in order to research the fascinating Medici family and decided to share my knowledge in the form of a novel. SABINA was published in 2011 and hit #1 on Amazon three years later.

What I love most about Florence is that the city is cloaked in layers of history. I am always discovering something new. My favorite historic sites include the Bargello Museum, the Palazzo Medici Riccardi, San Miniato monastery, and the church of Santa Maria Novella.

Today, I am a full time writer with ten novels on Amazon. SABINA and its sequel, ALLEGRA, are available in the Uffizi Gallery book store as well as the iconic Paperback Exchange. Sometimes, I pinch myself because I am finally walking on the moon.

¡Siempre me sorprendo descubriendo algo nuevo!
