This museum occupies an extensive area of the Dominican monastery of San Marco and still retains its original atmosphere. Founded in 1436 and designed by the architect Michelozzo, the monastery played an important role in the religious and cultural life of Florence. The fame of the museum is mainly due to the paintings of Beato Angelico (Blessed angelic one), one of the most representative painters of the Renaissance who embellished with its frescoes various rooms of the building, most remarkably the cells of the monks. Este museo ocupa una extensa área del monasterio dominicano de San Marcos y aún conserva su atmósfera original. Fundado en 1436 y diseñado por el arquitecto Michelozzo, el convento desempeñó un papel fundamental en la vida religiosa y cultural de Florencia. La fama del Museo de San Marcos se debe principalmente a las pinturas de Beato Angelico, uno de los pintores más representativos del Renacimiento, quien embelleció con sus frescos diversas estancias del edificio.
